Socialism on the march

Welcome to the June 1, 2009 edition of nobama blog carnival.

First, let me extend my deep apologies that this round of Bama Bashing has been delayed, due to an illness. (Even some of the little microbial critters may have been swayed by Obama's campaign rhetoric.) Anyway, they're off my case now and I'm feeling better, so I am happy to present you with another serving of thought-provoking commentary from bloggers united in opposition to smooth-talking socialism.

I chose to include this candid photo of "The One" (taken by a substitute on the White House cleaning staff before the President was fully made up for his official appearance, I'm told) as the image for this carnival edition, because it shows something of his character that most of the official press release photos do not convey.

An important reminder: Tea Party season is not over, there will be another round for July 4. Stand up for liberty!

On to the entries, folks--we've got another great round of blogging here and I want to extend my deepest thanks to those authors who submitted their posts. Please keep up the good work! Thanks to our readers. May sanity prevail next election!

Steve Faber presents How We'll Be Forced To Drive the Most Fuel Efficient Cars - Even if We Don't Want To posted at super gas saver: "Expensive fuel is the only way to force American drivers to buy the smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles that the auto manufacturers will be building."

Wenchypoo presents The Protectionist Plastic Police posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo's Mental Wastebasket: "Because of this new set of regulations, Obama has created the unintended consequence of making credit less available to those he’s trying to protect and serve."

Yoav B presents Waiting for Churchill posted at Israeli Soldier's LIFE & THOUGHTS: "Posted on the special historical date of May 10th, this post discusses the world's approach towards the Iranian nuclear program. Written from the perspective of a a soldier serving in a field unit in the IDF (Israeli Defence Force)."

DWSUWF presents The Arrogance of "Hope" posted at Divided We Stand United We Fall: "The comparison that is most apt is a comparison to the arrogance of Richard Nixon, as exemplified by the money quote in the Frost/Nixon interview - 'When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal.'"

Wenchypoo presents Using Our Own Money Against Us Part 4 (a new one for me): Rearranging Bank Deck Chairs posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo's Mental Wastebasket: "We will, in short, become Sweden II."

David Gross presents A San Francisco "Tea Party" review posted at The Picket Line: "How did the Tea Party compare with our local anti-war rallies, like that last ANSWER fiasco I went to?"

Selkirk presents Top 6 Head Scratchers of the First 100 Days posted at Political Castaway Blog: Broadcasting Conservatism to Rescue America: "Somebody in the White House really thought that it would be a good idea to take AF1 for a joy ride around Lower Manhattan."

Selkirk presents An Abject Failure: The First 100 Days posted at Political Castaway Blog: Broadcasting Conservatism to Rescue America: (in-depth analysis of Obama's first 100 days)

Shot presents First 100 days, the seeds of crisis?. posted at Conunderground.com: "Never let a crisis go to waste."

It's time for Nobama

Welcome to the March 6, 2009 edition of the Nobama blog carnival.

This Nobama edition is later than originally planned; my apologies for the delay.

We are facing a crucial time for America. Our liberties, our values, the lives of the vulnerable among us, and now our finances are at stake. It's a time for those who care about our country to speak out, to keep up the struggle.

We have another good lineup of commentary this time, covering the economy, big government, racial perspective, and even Obama's cell phone. Thanks to our contributors and readers, and remember to contribute to Nobama if you blog. Godspeed to all patriots!

Government Gone Wild

Wenchypoo presents The Pelosi-tariat and the Totalitarian Temptation posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo's Mental Wastebasket: "Even though Communism has proven to be an ultimate and dismal economic failure, some politicians and academics cling to the belief that they are superior to you, know more than you, are smarter than you, and can make better decisions for you than you yourself."

Wenchypoo presents The Law of Unintended Consequences Part 4 posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo's Mental Wastebasket: "Is this not slavery? Awaiting the Anointed One

Welcome to the January 11, 2009 edition of Nobama Blog Carnival.

As the media and the Left joyfully await the blessed reign of the Anointed One, here's another round of insightful commentary from the anti-Obama regions of the blogosphere. A hearty thanks and a happy new year to our readers and contributors.

Economy

Here we examine the unprecedentedly big numbers being considered in Obama's economic plans, along with other financial considerations. Don't miss the chart showing how much you'll owe over the next few decades!

Bill Spohnholtz presents Bailout Bazooka posted at Learn The Stock Market And How to Trade: "The number 1 trillion dollars has been thrown around for the total cost of Obama’s economic stimulus plan."

Raymond presents My Stock Market and Real Estate Predictions For Year 2009 posted at Money Blue Book: "Obama's economic policy is not going to revive the economy."

Bill OConnell presents Keep the Change posted at libertyslifeline.com: "Here is where Obama’s lack of executive experience is on full display, and the man is yet to take office."

And here's an amazing story of big plans on the public tab.

Traci Hayner Vanover presents Edwardsville, Alabama: They'll Leave the Light on For 'Ya posted at Shoe Tossing - Conservative News & Commentary - On the Heels of Liberal Lunacy: "And it won’t cost them nearly as much as you’d think -- especially if their wish for $375 million from the economic stimulus package is granted."

Racial factors

Political issues in black and white.

Curry Kenworthy presents Liberal fantasies and racial elections posted at Curry Kenworthy: "Some liberals are worried that Obama will be assassinated because he is black. What part does racism really play in today's political situation, and why do conservatives actually oppose Obama?"

Congress

This commentary was written while the Blagojevich situation was building up.

U.S. Common Sense presents Blagojevich and Democrats on Collision Course posted at U.S. Common Sense: "The Senate Democrats have vowed to block Burris from being seated. Blagojevich believes they won't be successful. Who will win this face-off?"

Cult of Charisma

Anyone out there afraid of charismatic leaders with obsessed, uncritical followers?

Cristy Li presents GMA Guest: "The One" Best Represented Teachings Of Jesus. Huh? posted at Cristy Li: "Rev. Ed Dobson who never voted for a Democrat claims that he spent a year in quiet meditation and believed 'The One' was closer to Jesus."

T. presents Deconstructing Obama, Pt. 2: 48 Laws of Obama posted at The Rawness: "This is part 2 of an ongoing series dedicated to piecing together a plausible personality profile of Obama."

Wenchypoo presents The Truth About the Economy and Job Creation posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo's Mental Wastebasket: "Only you have the power to improve the economy. Obama can’t help you, and he never could, in spite of his campaign promises—I just wish he’d accept it, admit it publicly, and resolve to quit throwing money at the problem."

Alli presents How to Save the Republic - Part 3 - Repeal the Direct Election of Senators posted at The Smoking Argus: "If the Republic is to be saved, the Senate must be restored to its Constitutional position and foundation upon Federalism."

tea512 presents Obama's inauguration price tag vs opulence posted at Tea512: "The question is in this time do we want a rock star for President or a man of the people?"
